The Summer School is organized by the Research and Development Department of Ellinogermaniki Agogi which has long experience in organizing thematic summer schools and training courses (click here to see the list of past events). The CREATIONS course is held in the framework of the "CREATIONS" project (H2020, Ref. Num: 665917).

Dr. Zacharoula Smyrnaiou is Assistant Professor in Science Education and Researcher in Educational Technology Lab. She teaches Science Education, Educational Technology and Modern Theories of Learning. The past 10 years her work has focused a) on the teaching of science using new information technologies b) on the educational design of digital media and accompanying pedagogical scenarios c) on implementing research in real classroom settings considering the factor gender d) on supporting teachers and students during the implementation of innovative educational activities with digital media and e) on teaching teacher educators. She is member of the committee of Science Curriculum Reform in Greece, chairman of the Scientific Supervisory Board of 1st Experimental High School of Athens and president at three-member committees to evaluate science teachers (Evaluation Project). She has been involved in projects funded by E.U. (FP7-Metafora, PLAY4GUIDANCE-Erasmus +, Erasmus Intensive Programme (Innovative practices for teaching science), FP6-e-comode, EDU-ELEARN-Recoil, ROSE (Relevance of Science Education), IST-School of Tomorrow-MODELLINGSPACE), etc. and she has coordinated two projects of training science teachers and development of science curriculum funded by the Greek ministry of Education. In the most of the projects she has been involved in the work package of project'evaluation. She has taken part as coordinator for various projects at the NK University of Athens: the International Tracing Assessment for learning Capability in Teachers (TACT) project ( ), Patternization of the design process applied for the construction of a structurally sound educational tool, Art, Design and Journalism approach in science teaching (ADJ[A]ST) as an Innovative way to make science education attractive to students. In addition, she is taking part as responsible of NKUA in the National Educational Project called “Learning Science Through Theater” that runs for the 2nd time in 2015-2016 (with the support of CREATIONS project), in cooperation with the Organising Organisation, Science View and with the research team of Ellinogermaniki Agogi. Also was involved in the implementation of the National Greek Student Parliament on Science (part of the European Student Parliament, a European Project that runs in 16 European countries) and also this year (2015-2016) also supported by the CREATIONS Project.

Mr. Menelaos Sotiriou (BSc Mathematics, MSc TQM). He is a science writer and communicator. He is a research fellow of the NKUA in the field of science education and especially in creativity in science education. He has been involved in several projects through Science View (in which is the General Secretary) in cooperation with the NKUA e.g. the European Student Parliament on Science (2014) and the Learning Science Through Theatre (2015). The last twelve (12) years he is running and organising European and national projects for several institutions (including research institutions) mainly in the areas of new and innovative technologies (ICT). He has been involved in more than 30 EU projects in the areas of SiS, SSH, ICT, Research for the Benefit of SMEs. He has vast experience in networking activities as the project Coordinator of EUROSiS Project that is the Network of the Science in Society NCPs. (Greek NCP for SiS Programme).

Mr. Petros Stergiopoulos is a musician and concert artist with a considerable background in flute pedagogy and research. Having served as professor of flute & chamber music in both secondary public and private music schools, he holds a versatile and long experience in teaching music through ICT. Through the VEMUS project (2008) he studied ICT methods for teaching physical musical-instruments through score-following and audio-recognition modules. Since 2009 he coordinates "Distance learning Music Agoge" project using teleconference and live-streaming tools for teaching music as a live-performance praxis in multiple remote areas within multicast environments. Except from designing innovative practices and metadata music-vocabularies for Open Discovery Space project, Mr. Stergiopoulos worked as evaluation and implementation leader in SimAULA and CREAT-IT projects respectively. As a member of the Ellinogermaniki Agogi R&D department his research focuses upon the idea of musical 'sympraxis' through synergies with Science using live interactive environments with low infrastructure.
